Once you have determined the approach for keeping knowledge, you then prepare the content for your chosen techniques. Review the techniques you are about to use and decide the best way to organize the content. Some examples from each category of Memletics techniques are:
· Associate. Organize content into sequential lists for peg word or linked list techniques.
· Visualize. Invent a visualization scenario to include key points from your content.
· Verbalize. Work out key points to write into a script.
· Simulate. Design a scenario to run in a simulator to include key learning points
· Perform. Split a complex task into parts for part task training, or work out variation and interference scenarios.
· Repeat. Organize content for flashcards, or extract question-answer pairs for SuperMemo (a software program discussed soon).
Once you have your material ready for application, move on to the next stage to use the techniques.
